About Biometric

Biometrics is a unique physical or a  behavior in a person. Biometrics is a new technology which has the main function to recognize a person through fingerprints, face, eyes or other body parts. Advantages of biometric systems include:
1. Biometric difficult to be lost (physical) or forgotten (behavior), except for certain factors, such as damage to the injured finger.
2. Biometric difficult to be imitated or copied.
3. Biometrics requires the owners concerned to be present at the identification done.

There are basically two kinds of security processes using biometric systems, are:
1. Verification for authentication purposes

In this process, one must enter a user-id  then followed by biometric(eg,. fingerprints, face, eyes, etc.). If there is compatibility between the two, then access can be granted. This process is called 1:1 (one to one).

2. Recognition for identification purposes

In this process, direct people to enter or show the safety codes for example passwords, fingerprints, face, eyes). After that the machine biometric (eg fingerprint reader) will track the data already stored in memory and find that in accordance with the security code. When you find the appropriate data, the identity of the owner of a security code will be displayed. This process is called a 1: N (one to many) because it is basically a process of matching a person with a huge list of data already stored in memory or databases.

So a bit about biometrics, will then be shown the types of biometrics, including fingerprints, Hand,Geometry Face, Iris eyes etc.
